Register for an Instructor-led Business Development Session

Instructor-led sessions are offered continuously throughout the state. You may register electronically online, by mail, or by fax to attend any SDO session.

Businesses located outside the Commonwealth are required to take the precertification session by telephone. Please contact SDO to request an appointment for a telephone session.

If you operate a non-profit organization, you should not register for a session here. Instead, please contact the SDO office, or take our online session, paying particular attention to the tax status section.

"A Pre-Certification Session"
The Supplier Diversity Office requires all businesses interested in applying for certification as a Minority, Woman, and/or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise to attend this session. It will include information about the regulations, qualifications, process, and other information needed to begin the certification process. This session will run for two hours.
"DCAM Vertical Construction Contracting Prime & Sub-bidder Certification Workshops"
This workshop is geared to assisting the MBE/WBE community in becoming DCAM-certified. This program will cover the DCAM Certification Application requirements and the process for becoming certified as a Prime & Filed Subbidder for those interested in bidding on M.G.L. Chapter 149 and 149A building construction work in the Commonwealth.
A Small Business Purchasing Program Overview - Comm-PASS SmartBid and Free Form Quick Quote
This FREE One Day Workshop provides an overview of the Small Business Purchasing Program (SBPP) and the Comm-PASS SmartBid Subscription Service. This Instructor Led Training provides the SBPP Participant with an interactive online training which includes: learning how to manage the vendor’s profile, setting up email notifications, and finding bidding opportunities and entering a Free Form Quick Quote to respond to a bidding opportunity. Businesses are encouraged to visit www.mass.gov/sbpp to view the eligibility criteria for the Small Business Purchasing Program prior to attending class. Class Length: 3 hours
Basic Supplier Diversity Program Overview & Comm-PASS training
This three hour training session is opened to Minority and Women-Owned Businesses, who are interested in learning how to use their SDO certification in the procurement process, find opportunities for SDP partnerships and market as an SDP participant to state entities. An overview of Comm-PASS is provided including an interactive session on how to navigate the system, search for open opportunities, and list your business as an interested bidder and other Comm-PASS features. (This workshop will be cancelled or rescheduled if the minimum number of participants (8) is not met)

Financial Education – information you need to know when looking for a loan, how evaluation criteria differs among lenders, advice and tips from financial professionals, and information on bonding. Accion, Mass Growth Capital, SBA, and regional lenders.
Connecting Your Business to the Commonwealth
The Operational Services Division and Supplier Diversity Office offer this FREE workshop designed for businesses who are interested in learning how to do business with the State. This workshop includes: An Overview of OSD Programs and Services, SDO Certification, Supplier Diversity Program (SDP), Small Business Purchasing Program (SBPP), live demonstration of where to find bidding opportunities in Comm-PASS (Commonwealth’s e-Procurement System) Statewide Contract and Departmental Contracting procurement process and Marketing to public entities.
Doing Business with MassDOT
This workshop will provide business owners with information about contracting and subcontracting opportunities with MassDOT. Learn about different types of business opportunities and the steps required to become an eligible vendor and to bid on contracts. This workshop covers a wide range of programs including design/engineering, construction and goods/services.
How to Submit an Effective SDP Plan Training
The SDP Plan form is a requirement for all large procurements and Statewide Contracts. SDP is offering this workshop to both Certified and Non-certified Bidders who are interested in learning how to submit effective SDP Plans. The training is designed to provide all Bidders with the necessary information, resources, tools and skills to complete an SDP Plan for all types of solicitations. (This workshop will be cancelled or rescheduled if the minimum number of participants (8) is not met)
MassDOT Prime Meet & Greet
These Prime Meet & Greets will assist by introducing Pre-qualified Prime Contractors to Ready, Willing, and Able DBE's. It will include information including pending construction opportunities, project updates, and 1-on-1 networking opportunities.
SDP Intermediate Vendor Training
This workshop will focus on procurement/bidding processes and the tools you need to do business with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Off-Set Fee: $25.00 per person Questions? Email: SDP@state.ma.us
SDP Workshop for Departments
This workshop is a three hour training that will assist all State procurement officers, contract managers and program coordinators gain better understanding and increase their tools for developing SDP approaches in the procurement process. This course will cover SDP Requirements and Policies, Strategic Research and Planning for M/WBE Vendor Pool Availability, SDP Plan Approaches for Success, Managing SDP Commitments for Increased Outcomes, SDP Steps for Effective Contract Management and Maximizing SDP Plan Opportunities and Evaluation Options. Case studies will be part of the curriculum. Feel free to bring your examples and case studies for discussion.
Statewide Contract Vendors -Quick Quote Online Submissions Classroom Training(2hrs)
Registration for this classroom training is limited to Statewide Contract Vendors on PRF34, ITT40, PRF46, These contracts are enabled or will be enabled with Comm-PASS Quick Quote functionality. SWC vendors on these contracts are required to submit bid responses using a Quick Quote. This session will provide an interactive learning experience for staff responsible for submitting these online responses through their SmartBid subscription. Registration limited to SWC Vendors on PRF34, ITT40, PRF46. Please identify the name of your business when registering. Pre-requisite: View the prerecorded vendor webcasts at www.comm-pass.com then go to: About Quick Quote link, Statewide Contract Quick Quote Info link, OSD On-Line Training link. Classes will be cancelled due to low enrollment, check here for notification.
